I know I should have written something sooner and I will be writing about it soon, but my computer is still down and not working properly. I'm getting a new one in about a week. Keep checking.
Today I went with my May client to her prenatal and met yet another OB at OB/GYN Associates of Montgomery. Dr. Sullivan. Boy was I surprised when she walked in! She's about my age, I actually thought she was a nurse at first glance.
She was not nearly as scary as I thought and was actually pretty cool with doing a VBAC as long as baby looks good. (Well yeah!) I was very much surprised, then Dr. Needham recognized me! That was really cool!
I will decide whether or not I will add Dr. Sullivan to my birth friendly doctors after this birth. Stay tuned!!
He's here. 12 days after his due date he has finally arrived. I witnessed a true transformation. Mom was beautiful and labored so well with her baby boy. Truly inspiring. I look forward to keeping in touch and watching their family grow.
Today was awesome. I finally was able to go and visit baby M born on February 9th. We were able to talk about the birth, reminisce and watch the video I put together. I was thrilled to see mom glow about her precious baby boy and see that her birth was a positive experience. I look forward to watching this family grow. I have a feeling it's going to be very hard to move again. Maybe, just maybe we can move to the country in the surrounding area.
I also signed with a family I met a couple of weeks ago. Moms a teacher. Her and dad both work in mental health. They are a cute
Today I went with a client to her 40 week appointment and got to meet again in a non-birth setting this time, Dr. Logan. She is very supportive of VBAC so even if you don't hire me as a doula but were curious enough to stop by my website I want to pass this information along. She's hilarious, fun and very supportive.
I have one more birth this month. Baby L is my first VBAC baby. I have such a great feeling about this and can't wait for the call. It's bittersweet as I am not taking on any births afterwards. (Maybe one in April, we shall see) This will be my last doula service for a couple of months. I will be resuming in the summer.
Just got home from another birth. What an amazing momma. I love love this family. I can't wait to share more but I need to get some sleep.
So it seems last year that April showers brought more then May flowers. I have 3 births for the month of February. I am one busy doula. I love it! I can't wait for the month to kick off. What a wonderful life it is of a doula.
I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. This time last year I was in England with my family. Oh how I miss them. Another big reason I am an OSD doula. I know what it's like to give birth away from family, even in another country. It's not fun!
I have a birth coming up in February. I have been so busy with school I was not taking clients but I plan on taking at least two this semester with my first being in February. Maybe I will take one on in April as well. I miss it so much!!
My name is Naomi and I am the face of Diamond Doula. I am a mother of two little men, ages 6 and 8 and a step-mother to two beautiful girls, ages 15 and 18.
